Durham: 575; Kent: 340 and 179
KENT lost their last two wickets inside 29 minutes of the final day to succumb to an innings and 56 run home defeat against Durham.
Min Patel put up some late, if token resistance, with a hard-hit 61 from 64 balls before falling to a slower ball yorker from Ottis Gibson.
Then, two balls later, the same bowler snared Kent’s last man Robbie Joseph leg before to complete the comfortable win.
After the game director of cricket Graham Ford said his side had bowled too short on the St Lawrence pitch, allowing Durham’s batsmen to score freely square of the wicket in posting their record and ultimately match-winning first innings total of 575.
