CANTERBURY-born speedway international Paul Hurry is expected to be in the Ipswich Witches Elite League side which takes on Arena-Essex at Purfleet on Friday.
Hurry, a former Arena-Essex rider, will be taking on a Hammers line-up including Whitstable’s Andy Galvin, who will be hoping for a giant-killing against the Witches in the newly-launched British League Cup.
The meeting starts at 8pm, and admission is £10 for adults, with concessions for pensioners and children. The raceway is just off the M25 close to Lakeside Shopping Centre.
Galvin scored a heat win and a third place as Arena-Essex beat Newport Wasps 65-24 in the Premier League at Purfleet last Friday.
Hammers will meet Rye House at Purfleet on Friday, May 23, and Hoddesdon on Monday, May 26, in the two-leg replay of their drawn Knockout Cup tie.
