Canterbury District Primary Schools’ under-11 boys’ and girls’ sides make strong start to the season as they aim to build on last campaign’s success

Canterbury District Primary Schools’ under-11 sides have started this season with just as much enthusiasm as they did last term as they aim to build on their successful 2023/24 campaign.

Looking to follow in the footsteps of the boys’ team who reached the Daniel Trophy final, the under-11 girls’ team are still unbeaten in the Kent Schools’ FA Super League, topping the standings with 18 points.

The girls qualified for the English Schools National Cup competition second round as they saw off Maidstone and narrowly lost to Tonbridge & Malling Primary.

Under girls’ manager Martyn Cassell, they will play the Kent Girls Super Cup in February in Bexley.

The under-11 boys’ team remain unbeaten in all competitions, topping the KSFA Primary Premiership Bill Carney Trophy with 15 points. The boys are also only one match away from winning the South East District Schools league title.

Recent Gills Shield winners against Elmbridge & Runnymede, the boys will play Orpington & Bromley in the second round.

In addition, the boys' team have advanced to the ESFA Inter Association Cup fourth round and will play Sutton Primary, beating Dover in the second round and Maidstone in the third round.

The Daniel Trophy Cup quarter-finals also await again after they were victorious against Orpington & Bromley.

Canterbury District have worked hard to provide opportunities for pupils in the last four years and have been supported by the Kent Schools’ FA.
