Royston Gough claimed a first-half hat-trick as Canterbury City beat bottom club Lydd 9-1 in Division 1 East of the Vandanel Kent County League.
Gough struck twice for the leaders inside six minuutes and completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot five minutes before half time.
Dan Bonneywell centred for Scott Lawford to head the fourth and then got on the scoreseheet himself to make it five.
Dave Read earned some reward for a hard-working performance by scoring the sixth with subsititute Jamie Maxted heading the seventh.
Bonneywell tucked away a penalty to for his second but missed out on a hat-trick when he saw another spott kick saved by Lydd keeper Joe Briffett.
Lydd then conceded another penalty and again Briffett saved from Bonneywell, only for Maxted to score from the follow-up.
This win took City eight points clear at the top. On Saturday they face Belvedere in a Kent Intermediate Challenge Shield match which will be played at Canterbury High School (kick-off 1.30pm.
