Jenny Hall was in the Great Britain women’s hockey team that won gold at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival in Sydney.
Hall, who plays for Canterbury ladies, played an important part in team GB’s winning goal against Australia in the final.
Great Britain qualified for the final after beating India 3-1 and USA 4-1. Hall got on the scoresheet as GB lost their final pool game against Australia 4-2.
In the final, GB won 3-2 thanks to an extra-time golden goal from Sophie Bray.
Australia took the lead against the run of play with a penalty corner goal from captain Stephanie Andrews after 28 minutes.
In the second half, Team GB finally made their pressure count when Sarah Page (Street) pulled them level after 66 minutes.
The Australian team launched an attack straight from the restart which resulted in them going back in front less than 60 seconds after Team GB had drawn level.
Harriet Pearce (Cheltenham) then forced golden goal extra-time with a late strike.
The winning goal came six minutes into the first period when Sophie Bray applied the finishing touch to a move involving Laura Bartlett and Hall.
