Lloyd Norris-Jones hit another hat-trick as Canterbury Hockey Club moved five points clear at the top of Conference East with a 7-0 home victory over Ipswich.
The Suffolk strugglers set out from the start to frustrate the leaders, but their game plan lasted less than quarter-of-an-hour before Norris-Jones struck twice in as many minutes.
The South African completed his hat-trick just before the half hour with Michael Farrer increasing Canterbury's lead from a slipped short corner two minutes into the second period.
Jess Dowsing's excellent run and shot made it 5-0 just before the hour, and after Farrer had added his second from another corner, Dowsing wrapped up things with a blistering finish.
With just games to go before the mid-season break Canterbury have a five-point lead over nearest rivals Old Loughtonians. They are away to Bromley and Beckenham on Saturday, and face Indian Gymkhana in the cup on Sunday
Canterbury Ladies extended their unbeaten start in the EHL Premier Division with a 4-1 victory at Ipswich on Saturday.
They are at home to Olton and West Warwicks on Sunday, start noon.
