CANTERBURY Hockey Club’s men will launch their 2006/07 National League campaign with matches against the two promoted clubs.
Belper, last year’s Division 1 champions, visit Polo Farm for the opening game, on Sunday, October 8, while a week later Canterbury travel to Beeston, who gained promotion through the play-offs.
Canterbury are at home to defending champions Cannock on Saturday, October 21 and face Hampstead and Westminster away on Sunday, October 29.
The final game before Christmas will be played on Sunday, December 3 with the programme resuming on Sunday, January 28.
The women’s EHL season starts two weeks later due to England’s participation in the World Cup in Madrid and Canterbury will open their porgamme at home to Sutton Coldfield on Saturday, October 21.
Mel Clewlow’s side are away to Old Loughtonians on Saturday, October 28 and return to Polo the following day when they entertain Bowdon Hightown.
They travel to league winners and Super Cup holders Leicester on Saturday, November 18, with the return at Canterbury on the final day of the season, Saturday March 24.
