Kent's One Day Cup captain Jack Leaning will miss the next two games to feature in The Hundred.
Leaning has been called up as a Covid replacement by Nottingham-based Trent Rockets, as cover for Steven Mullaney.
The 27-year-old missed Kent's first two games in the One Day Cup due to Covid protocols and then fielded for less than 15 overs before his team's clash with Lancashire at Beckenham was abandoned due to rain on Wednesday.
It means Leaning will miss Kent's trip to Sussex on Friday and the match away to Essex on Sunday.
Leaning joined Kent for the start of last season after leaving Yorkshire and has impressed since making the move south.
The Rockets said that Mullaney was ruled out of the Rockets’ second home fixture after being identified as a close contact of members of the support staff who tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday.
Leaning’s contract took in the win at London Spirit on Thursday, which he did not feature in, and the game against Birmingham Phoenix on Sunday.
Wicketkeeper/batsman Ollie Robinson will again captain Kent in Leaning's absence while bowler Harry Podmore will miss the Sussex game after picking up an injury in the warm-up at Beckenham on Wednesday.
