Kent secured promotion to Division 1 of the County Championship after beating Glamorgan at Canterbury.
The 24 points from that match was enough to get a place in the top two with a game to spare.
Darren Stevens claimed a five-wicket haul in the Glamorgan second innings to ensure an emphatic victory of an innings and 172 runs.
Glamorgan won the toss and chose to bat but would soon regret that choice when opening pair of Matt Henry (4-45) and Stevens (2-38) reduced them to 86-5.
The visitors managed to get up to 186 largely thanks to Jack Murphy who scored 80.
Zak Crawley scored his maiden first-class century to help Kent into a match winning position. Crawley's 168 and Sam Billings' 85 saw the home side to 436 and a lead of 250.
Stevens (5-24) and Henry (4-53) again doing the damage with the ball as Glamorgan were skittled for 78 to see Kent to promotion from Division 2.
Kent's final match of the season is at Warwickshre next week with the winner likely to claim the Division 2 title.
