Canterbury City and Larkfield & New Hythe both produced upsets in the Kent Senior Trophy First Round on Saturday.
A Harry Bradford goal with 13 minutes left saw Canterbury win 1-0 at home to Premier Division Rusthall.
Division 1 side Larkfield also beat higher-league opposition, impressively winning 1-0 at Lydd thanks to Joe Bingham’s penalty midway through the first half. The visitors also had the luxury of missing a penalty in the second half.
Callum Peck scored four goals as Lordswood needed extra-time to defeat Division 1 Lewisham.
Three goals in a five-minute spell either side of half-time from Michael Amponsah, Zacchius Ajose and Bryan Zepo put hosts Lewisham in charge.
But Peck completed his hat-trick seven minutes from time to make it 3-3 and then added to Josh Reid’s goal in the second half of extra-time to seal his team’s progress.
Last season’s finalists, Deal, were knocked out at home by Snodland, who scored a 90th-minute winner through Jack Bath.
Ben Davisson’s first-half penalty had put Snodland ahead but Jack Hanson levelled on the hour mark.
Faversham comfortably progressed at the expense of Kent County League Kent United. Warren Mfula, Josh Vincent and a Stefan Payne penalty put the hosts 3-0 ahead at half-time, although the 10 men did lose winger Ashley Miller to a last-man challenge.
Mfula added his second after the break, Fred Baker claiming a consolation nine minutes from time.
Josh Oliver’s hat-trick helped Whitstable to a 4-2 home win over Tunbridge Wells.
A whirlwind start saw Oliver put Whitstable ahead on three minutes. Rory Ward equalised three minutes later before Josh Williams made it 2-1 with just eight minutes played.
Oliver scored either side of half-time to complete his treble, James White replying for the visitors.
Harvey Welford scored a goal in either half as Hollands & Blair progressed 2-0 at home to VCD.
Henry Arnold bagged a hat-trick as Erith Town won 6-1 at fellow Premier Division side Sutton Athletic.
James Dyer, Joe Chalker and Harry Taylor also scored for the Dockers, Jack Kirby’s late penalty was a consolation for the home side.
There was no shortage of action as Kennington won for the first time since August 19.
They triumphed 7-4 at Division 1 Greenways, having led 5-0 at one stage early in the second half.
Kyron Lightfoot, a Fin Dent double plus Ryan Philpott put Kennington 4-0 up at half-time. Philpott made it five before Farai Maganga and James Austin replied. Mo Cham made it 6-2 but Oscar Saxton pulled another one back as five goals arrived in an eight-minute spell.
Tom Reardon made it 6-4 but Craig Calvert ended any hopes of a home comeback, scoring the seventh goal with 15 minutes left.
Luke Adam’s late winner sent Corinthian through as they won 2-1 at Glebe, who had taken a second-minute lead through Jamie Philpot. Sam Bewick equalised early in the second half for the visitors.
Fisher went through on penalties against Stansfeld following a 1-1 draw. Both goals came late on as Teddy Jones’ opener was cancelled out by Jack Carthy’s penalty for Stansfeld.
Nathan Palmer scored twice as Bearsted won 5-0 at Division 1 strugglers SC Thamesmead. Will Johnson-Cole, Alfie Saunders and an own goal completed their tally.
Premier Division Welling Town were knocked out, 6-1 at West Wickham, while Croydon won at Rochester and K Sports defeated Staplehurst.
