Kent Cricket complete loan signing of Australian-born Durham fast bowler Mitchell Claydon

Kent have signed Australian-born fast bowler Mitchell Claydon on an initial month’s loan from Durham.

The 30-year-old right-arm seamer first joined Yorkshire in 2005 but after an injury-plagued spell he signed for Durham in 2007 where he played his way into the team and took 22 wickets in their Championship winning campaign.

Claydon - who hasn’t made a first team appearance at the Riverside this season - has signed at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence, until July 10 with the option of an extension beyond that date.

Claydon - a holder of a British passport - joins former Durham teammates Ben Harmison and Mark Davies - currently sidelined with a left-arm injury - in making the switch from the north east.
