Kent have signed Dutch international fast bowler Fred Klaassen on a two-year contract.
The 25-year-old left-armer will join the club ahead of the 2019 season.
Klaassen made his international debut in a One Day International against Nepal in Amstelveen in August, taking 3-30.
He also helped his club side, VOC Rotterdam, become the Dutch champions for the first time since 1994 this season. He was this year’s leading wicket-taker with 29 at 14.10 in the 50-over format.
Klaassen said: “I am absolutely delighted to have signed. The players and staff have been very welcoming, and I’m looking forward to being part of this talented group from next season.”
Klaassen took 4- 67 and 3-97 in the 127-run victory for Kent 2nds over Essex in a four-day friendly at Canterbury’s Polo Farm in September.
Paul Downton, director of cricket at Kent said: “We are delighted to add Fred to our seam bowling unit. In the short time we have known Fred he has made a big impression around the group.
“His left-arm bowling will give us a different option and balance to our attack. He’ll be a great addition.”
