Kent secured their fourth victory of the season in LV=County Championship Division 2 when they hammered Glamorgan by 316 runs in Cardiff.
The win came as a result of one of their most complete performances of the season with former skipper Rob Key very much to the fore with knocks of 94 and 158.
He and Joe Denly (161 not out) shared a second wicket stand of 222 in Kent's second innings - a record for that wicket against Glamorgan - and Denly also went past 1,000 championship runs for the season in the process.
The game will also be remembered for Matt Coles claiming his 100th wicket of the season in all competitions on the final afternoon as he and Darren Stevens (5-58) ousted the hosts for 237.
Kent were in control from the moment they scored 309 and the reduced the hosts to 65-4 on the opening day.
After winning the toss they were given a pulsating start by Key and Sean Dickson, who put on 122 for the second wicket, after Michael Hogan had dismissed Daniel Bell-Drummond with the eighth ball of the morning.
Dickson, making only his second Championship appearance, scored 56 before being dismissed in the final over before lunch while Key, who made a career-best unbeaten 270 in Cardiff six years ago, was in sight of a second century in successive games, when he was caught behind for 94.
Skipper Sam Northeast survived being dropped twice in the same over to make 56, but from a strong position of 212-2 Kent then lost their way, with the last eight wickets going down for 97.
Darren Stevens struck a typically robust 64 from 61 balls with a six and 10 fours, but four of the last five batsmen failed to score as Hogan finished with 4-51, and David Lloyd 3-80.
Kent's bowlers quickly got to work with the two Matts, Coles and Hunn, removing both openers with only four on the board and by stumps the home side had also lost Colin Ingram and Lloyd.
Two early strikes by Stevens - his first from the second ball of the second day - had Glamorgan further in trouble and they collapsed to 101-7 before Graham Wagg and Craig Meschede led a counterattack.
The pair added 57 in brisk fashion before Meschede (33) was caught on the long on boundary off Adam Riley, who then bowled Wallace for nine, forcing lunch to be delayed with Glamorgan nine wickets down.
Wagg's resistance was finally ended when he was caught off Riley with the score on 207, having made 58 from 56 balls with eight fours and two sixes.
Riley finished with season's best figures of 4-47, while Stevens took 2-43, Hunn 2-45 and Coles 2-47.
Openers Bell-Drummond and Key wasted no time in strengthening Kent's position, initially scoring at five runs an over and they shared an opening stand of 114, before Bell –Drummond fell for 54.
Key was then joined by Denly and the pair stayed together until well into the third morning. Key, who used a runner in the latter stages of his knock, finally holed out for an imperious 158, having batted for 299 minutes and hit 13 fours. It was his 54th First-Class century and his fourth successive score of 50 or more.
Denly finished unbeaten on 161 - his 17th First-Class ton, and second since returning to Kent from Middlesex hitting 21 fours and two sixes - and their stand was the best for Kent's second wicket against Glamorgan, beating the previous best of 184, established by Neil Taylor and Trevor Ward, at The Mote, in 1991.
Skipper Northeast weighed with an unbeaten 50 from 60 balls - taking him past 2,000 runs in all competitions for the season - and when the declaration came, six overs after lunch, at 451-2, Glamorgan were left chasing a wholly improbable 554.
They begun disastrously with championship debutant Jeremy Lawlor collecting his second duck of the game when he was bowled by Coles, who then had Lloyd caught behind with the total still only on 23.
James Kettleborough (56) and Ingram then led a recovery taking to score to 101-2 at tea, after which bad light prevented any further play.
There were further rain breaks on the final morning but another flurry of wickets, including two in as many balls from Stevens, who reached 60 wickets in red-ball cricket this season, saw the hosts slip to 155-8 before Coles (4-76) claimed his 100th scalp with Andrew Salter (31) holing out to Denly.
Though Ingram (105 not out) held firm Hunn (1-52) claimed the final wicket by bowling Hogan (16) to secure victory and lift his his side to seventh, 15 points above Derbyshire.
They complete their championship campaign against Gloucestershire in a game which starts at Canterbury on Monday.
