Netherlands international Fred Klaassen signs new white-ball deal with Kent Spitfires for 2025

Kent left-arm seamer Fred Klaassen has signed a new deal for the 2025 white-ball season.

Klaassen missed the 2024 campaign with a back injury picked up on international duty with the Netherlands in May and had surgery in New Zealand in July.

But the 32-year-old will be back in Spitfires colours this summer under new head coach Adam Hollioake.

Klaassen said: “I’m really pleased to commit to Kent for at least another year at what feels like a fresh start for us and the start of something exciting.

“A big contributing factor to me committing to Kent was having Adam Hollioake come in as head coach.

“I’m looking forward to working with him and the rest of the squad to hopefully put some big performances in in 2025 after a disappointing 2024 due to injury.”

Director of cricket Simon Cook added: “Fred is an outstanding T20 bowler on his day and with his left-arm angles, he gives us a point of difference in matchups against opposition batters.

“He’s a popular member of the dressing room and he has worked hard to rehabilitate from his surgery in the summer.

“We hope that he will be back to his best in 2025.”

Klaasen has 61 wickets in 55 T20 matches to his name having first joined Kent in 2019. His best figures of 4-17 came at finals day in 2021.
