Canterbury Ladies maintained their 100% start to the Investec National Premier Division campaign with a 4-0 romp against Sutton Coldfield at Polo Farm.

The game only sprung into life after a goalless first half when Nikki Kidd put the city club ahead seven minutes after the turnaround.

Nicola Lloyd doubled the advantage on 49 minutes and Kimberly Young made the points safe shortly before the hour.

The fourth arrived two minutes from time through Anna Baker, who found the net for the third game in four.

Canterbury sit two points clear of Clifton at the top of the table.

Canterbury’s men were involved in a thrilling comeback at Cannock, only to fall short in a 6-4 defeat.

Cannock dominated the first hour with Nick Bandurak, Hardeep Singh Jawanda, Andrew Appleton and Pete Jackson putting them 4-0 up.

Skipper Michael Farrer hit back for Canterbury but Cannock went 5-1 up through an own goal before the visitors went for broke, withdrawing their keeper and introducing an extra outfielder.

The tactic worked as Liam Foster, Farrer and Ali Bray scored for Canterbury to make it 5-4, but a penalty stroke converted by Jackson in the final minute made the points safe for the home side.
