Substitute Scott Lawford scored the winning goal in extra-time as Canterbury City booked a place in the third round of the Kent Intermediate Challenge Shield with a 3-2 win against Otford on Saturday.

Royston Gough put Canterbury ahead after 33 minutes when he headed home a cross from Dave Read.

In the second half, City looked to be in control when new signing Luke Jackson prodded home to give them a two goal lead.

Otford pulled a goal back through a Mark Lampard penalty.

Lampard then headed in off the crossbar deep into injury time as Otford forced extra-time.

Lawford then prodded in the winner and Canterbury held out to book their place in the last eight.

Canterbury: A Jackson, Lockhart, Hossick, Seager, L Jackson (Lawford), Smith, McGeehan, Tuite (Langiano), Read, Gough (Fittall).
