Rona Loubser won the women’s race in the Ashford & District Road Runners Club 10k on Sunday.
The Folkestone Running Club member came home in 36min 14sec to win narrowly from Helena Penfold (36.25) of Medway & Maidstone AC, with Louise Vallier (36.53) of Arena 80 in third place.
Gemma Sharp (37.47) of Arena 80 was fourth ahead of closely-matched Kent athletes Helen Wheeler (W35, 38.43) of Folkestone Running Club and Jill Cliff (W35, 38.52) of Deal Triathletes.
Vicky Talbot-Rosner (40.45) of Invicta East Kent was the leading W45 master.
The men’s race was won by Brighton-based Josh Guilmant of Phoenix AC, who took almost one-and-a-half minutes off his previous best to leap to seventh fastest in Britain this year with 31:08.
Runner-up was Dan Bradley of Tonbridge AC who also ran a personal best in vain pursuit of the Sussex University student and was comfortably clear of Rob Ingham (33.49) in third.
Sam Rigby (34.17) of Folkestone AC and the unattached Chris Valdus (34.23) were next home in front of the leading M40 master, Theo Bately (34.48) of Deal Triathletes.
Martyn Rouse (M60, 39.42) of Invicta East Kent was among 50 athletes who finished under 40 minutes and was well ahead of the leading M50 master, David Smythe (39.46) of Folkestone Running Club.
The first Ashford & District RRC member home was Robert Carpenter, who finished 15th in 36.27.
Stephen Hickman, results secretary for Ashford & District Road Runners Club, said: “We had over 650 entries and 563 finishers, which was one of the best entries we’ve ever had and conditions were ideal for running.”
