Kent Cricket have postponed next month’s general meeting but will still be giving members the chance to ask questions.
The club meeting was due to take place on Monday, April 6 but had been postponed because of the covid-19 pandemic.
Members will, however, be able to join an online forum which will take place on the date of the planned meeting, April 6, between 5pm and 6.30pm.
It won’t replace the general meeting though, as the club are conscious that not everybody will be able to access the online forum. A new date for the formal meeting will be announced later.
A club statement said: “The club recognises that many members will have questions during this challenging time and would therefore like to invite members to participate in an online forum.”
Supporters with a valid 2020 membership can access next Monday’s event and will be contacted by the club.
Kent Cricket will be represented by senior club personnel, including chairman Simon Philip, along with director of cricket Paul Downton and captain Sam Billings.
Mr Philip said: "We have not taken the decision to postpone the AGM lightly and have extensively explored all options available to us.
"Our main priorities are to ensure the health and well-being of all involved, and comply with Government requirements around permitted activities.
"We felt that it was vital all of our members had an opportunity to attend and participate at the AGM, which may not have been the case had we taken the decision to make it only accessible via an online portal.
"However, we are all in this together, so it is important that we have the opportunity to engage with our members and try and provide as much clarity as we can in this ever-changing situation.”
