Adam Milne believes that if he performs half as well as his compatriot Matt Henry he will get Kent in a good place for the T20 blast.
New Zealand fast bowler Milne joins the club as an overseas player for the tournament.
He replaces Henry who took 65 wickets in all competitions during the first half of the season.
Milne said: “It will be tough to emulate that. Matt has been outstanding and is a great bowler.
“I’ve played alongside him and with him for a while now with New Zealand. He’s been going magnificently over here and if I can half as well as he’s done hopefully that will put the team in a good position.”
Milne was with Kent during the 2017 season but suffered an injury during the T20 campaign that saw he restricted to seven matches.
He took 15 wickets, which included a career best of 5-11 against Somerset.

Milne said: “It’s exciting to be back and here with a group of guys I know.
“The body is good at the moment and hopefully I will start off well in those first few games and get a bit of momentum from there.
“Once you play the games it’s about looking after your body and preparing yourself for the next game.
“I would like to think I’ve improved from last year and added a different skill set to my game.
“From a team mindset it’s just trying to help the team win and whatever that requires from me I will do it. I just want to do well for the team and get us a T20 title.”
Milne joins a team high on confidence after reaching the final of the Royal London One-Day Cup and are currently second in the Specsavers County Championship Division 2.
He added: “A few of the guys have said it’s a really good environment and the team is moving forward and they’ve played some magnificent cricket to get to second in the championship and to the final in the One-Day Cup.”
