Kent captain James Tredwell has paid tribute to Brendan Nash after his latest run-scoring contribution.

Nash has made 392 runs in seven knocks - six of them in the Championship - so far this season, and his unbeaten 98 against Warwickshire in the YB40 on Monday was his highest one-day score for Kent and helped earn a vital win.

However after making half-centuries in his first four Championship innings this season, with one century, the former West Indian international made only 18 and 14 in the defeat against Northants.

Tredwell said: “He is flying at the moment and recognises he is in good form and wants to make the most of it.

“He will be a little disappointed he couldn’t follow his century at Old Trafford with another against Northants but he’s playing really well.”
