Sam Northeast top scored for England Under-19s as they slipped to a six-wicket defeat in their opening Twenty20 match with South Africa in Cape Town.
The Kent opener posted 47 at better than a run a ball and Leicestershire's Josh Cobb hit 26 off just 12 deliveries, but none of England's other players reached double figures and the tourists had to settle for a total of 132 for seven.
South Africa's flying start to their reply comfortably carried them over the line at Newlands and gave them a 1-0 lead in the Twenty20 series. Opener Andrea Agathagelou and number three Rilee Rossouw added 53 in 5.1 overs to set up the hosts' six-wicket triumph.
The second and final Twenty20 match takes place in Paarl on Friday.
