Canterbury head coach Andy Pratt will not make wholesale changes to his squad this summer although he is in talks with transfer targets.
Pratt’s side have secured their place in National 2 South after winning promotion a year ago.
Safe from relegation but well adrift of the sides at the top, Pratt is already looking to reshape his playing staff for 2013-14.
He said: "I’ve been having chats with a few players and talking to our current lot, who I’m pleased with, with September in mind.
"Even if I was given a heap of cash, I wouldn’t bring in a whole load of recruits from overseas or different parts of the country.
"It’s important to remember we are an East Kent club and I want the majority of players to come from the local area.
"We do need to sign a bit of quality but I don’t want to make wholesale changes. Some (of our) players are coming to the end of their careers and we have to start thinking about that."
Canterbury, who don’t play this weekend, finish their season on April 27 against Bournemouth at Merton Lane, where nine of their 12 league wins have come this season.
The city club look set to finish eighth and Pratt said: "I’m pleased. If you’ve offered me that at the start of the season, I’d certainly have taken it."
