KENT have named an unchanged side ahead of their third Frizzell County Championship start of the season at home to Middlesex starting in Canterbury on Wednesday (May 14).

With David Fulton (eye), Min Patel (back) and Amjad Khan (shin fracture) all long-term absentees, acting captain Mark Ealham had few choices but to go in with the same championship team that lost to Sussex inside three days at Hove barely a fortnight ago.

The pressure will again be on the top order batsmen Michael Carberry, Rob Key, Greg Blewett, Ed Smith and Matthew Walker who have yet to deliver the goods consistently despite the occasional cameo innings.

Ben Trott, the pick of the Kent attack in recent one-day games against Essex and Cornwall, retains his place in the four-day format, though Alamgir Sheriyar and Martin Saggers seem likely to share the new ball.

Newly promoted Middlesex have lost twice in their opening three starts, while the basement hosts have yet to win in two.

Kent side to play Middlesex: May 14-17: Key, Carberry, Smith, Blewett, Walker, Ealham, Jones, Tredwell, Saggers, Trott, Sheriyar.
