Recalled Matt Coles says his two-week absence from Kent action has left him feeling refreshed and able to concentrate on the rest of the season.
Coles’ last appearance before Saturday’s loss against the New Zealand tourists was the final day of the championship clash at Hampshire on Saturday, June 8.
Unspecified personal reasons kept him out of the line-up for the game against Glamorgan in the championship and the Spitfires’ world record-breaking Yorkshire Bank 40 success against Sussex last week.
The all-rounder, who turned 23 last month, wouldn’t elaborate on the reasons behind his absence, but admitted: "It’s been a tough start to the year so far. It was good to have that two weeks off and get some technical work done.
"It’s been a good rest and recovery period to keep me going for the rest of the year hopefully.
"It was just personal reasons but it’s all sorted out now, so I can concentrate on the rest of the cricket. It’s all behind me."
