Canterbury 35 Worthing 17
Canterbury Rugby Club bounced back to form with a 35-17 win over Worthing in the National League 3 South.
The city side returned to a simpler, more basic game plan which paid off with five tries and was rewarded with maximum points and a move up the league table.
Had they not been handicapped by technical indiscipline in the second half, the margin of victory might well have been wider.
Having stretched the lead to 28-10 two yellow cards - first for prop Mark Livesey and then temporary replacement Dave Hillerby - meant the city club played a man short for a total of 20 minutes.
The Sussex side have struggled since being promoted this season and their limitations were exposed as Canterbury punched holes round the fringes of the rucks and tested a suspect mid-field defence.
