KENT players twiddled their thumbs and let Mother Nature do her work for much of the day as 80 overs were lost on day two of their championship clash in Bristol.
It did not rain all day, but the overnight downpours that had flooded the run-ups left match umpires Vanburn Holder and Jeremy Lloyds with little option but to abandon play until 4.30pm.
Kent made a good start after the resumption when Martin Saggers plucked out Jack Russell's middle stump to make it 141 for six, but home skipper Chris Taylor (58) and Alastair Bressington (2) saw things through to stumps at 202 for six.
Saggers, with four for 31 from 16 overs, was easily the pick of the Kent
attack on another frustrating day.
