KENT have named a 14-man squad for their two day pre-season friendly with Derbyshire starting in Canterbury this Friday.
The game will be played to first-class regulations of 96 overs per day starting at 11am, but visiting coach David Houghton has asked to play 14 players over the two days to enable as many of his squad to get a taste of the action.
Kent's director of cricket Graham Ford has agreed to the request and has named Martin Saggers in his 14-stong party for Kent's first meeting with the East Midlands' county in almost five years.
It will be Saggers' first appearance for Kent since July 20 last year when patella tendonitis to the right knee wiped out the remainder of his 2004 campaign.
Close season signings Simon Cook, Darren Stevens and Martin van Jaarsveld are also included alongside England players Geraint Jones and Rob Key.
The sides will also do battle at St Lawrence on Sunday in a 45-overs a side game.
Kent squad: Fulton, Key, van Jaarsveld, Walker, Stevens, Carberry, Jones, Patel, Khan, Saggers, Cook, Tredwell, O'Brien, Dennington.
