Competitive cricket returned to East Kent on Saturday.
Eleven clubs will compete in a three-division tournament, named the East Kent NHS Heroes League.
There are four teams in Division 1 and they will play each other twice on the same day in T20 games.
Sandwich Town lead the way after week one having won both of their matches against Canterbury.
Canterbury were bowled out for 92 with Town’s Ben Smith claiming a couple of top-order wickets. Alex Smith (33) top scored in reply as Sandwich knocked the runs off in 11 overs.
Sandwich had won the earlier match at The Butts by eight wickets after chasing down 125-6. Openers Zack Fagg (56) and Tom Chapman (33) set them on their way.
The meeting between Folkestone and St Lawrence & Highland Court produced a win apiece.
Shaheer Malik hit 66 for Folkestone in a 16-run victory but the other match had gone the way of the visitors, claiming four points thanks to a five-wicket success.
Six teams are competing in Division Two. Broadstairs, Chestfield, Nonington, Sandwich Town 2nds, Walmer and Whitstable. They will play each other twice, home and away.
Broadstairs started the delayed 2020 season with a home win against Walmer.
The hosts reached a meagre 43-1 after the first 15 overs but the scoring rate was then doubled over the remaining 30 overs and the home side finished on 229 all out with two balls remaining.
Key performances from Alex Hogben (79), Elliot Fox (48 not out) and Matt Hardy (38).
In reply, Walmer looked odds-on to win at 106-2 with 25 overs remaining but a sequence of three wickets over the subsequent six overs coupled with some containing bowling put the home team back in the driving seat. Elliot Fox took 5-43.
The eight teams competing in Division 3 are Ash, Broadstairs 2nds, Canterbury 2nds, Chestfield 2nds, Folkestone 2nds, Littlebourne, St Lawrence & HC 2nds and Whitstable 2nds.
There was a four-wicket win for Ash against Chestfield 2nds at the Recreation Ground. Chasing 134, opener Richard Ewart starred with the bat, hitting 76 not out.
Canterbury 2nds beat Littlebourne by seven wickets.
Byron Gould hit 70 for Littlebourne after they won the toss and elected to bat. They were bowled out for 178. Canterbury’s Christian Roberts (73 not out) and Andrew Kinch (51 not out) came together for the fourth wicket to guide them home.
