Kent Spitfires made it two wins out of three on Friday in the Yorkshire Bank 40 competition after a seven-wicket victory in Holland.

Skipper James Tredwell led the way with 4-22 as Kent eased to victory against Netherlands in Deventer.

Having opted to field first, Tredwell must have been in dreamland as Matt Coles and a run out by Brendan Nash left the hosts 2-2 after four overs when a brief rain delay made it a 39-over match.

The reduction was largely irrelevant, however, as Kent quickly had Netherlands on 6-3 and then 55-7.

Coles returned 2-5 from four overs and Darren Stevens picked up 3-19 in 6.1 overs.

Kent lost Sam Billings (7) cheaply again in reply before Rob Key went for 16 with the score on 39. That quickly became 53-3 when Stevens departed for 11 but the cool head of Nash saw Spitfires home.

The former West Indian international continued his excellent form batting at three with an unbeaten 45 and the returning Ben Harmison made a confidence-boosting 17 not out to help steer Kent home with more than 15 overs to spare.
