KENT bowler Martin Saggers became part of an England cricket tradition upon his first international appearance.
He joined an all-too-familiar batting collapse as England slid from 311 for five to 326 all out on the second day of the second Test match against Bangladesh in Chitagong. Saggers was out leg before to Mohammad Rafique for one run.
The Kent man, used to taking the ball first for his county, also had to wait for his introduction to the bowling attack, as captain Michael Vaughan opted to open with Matthew Hoggard and Richard Johnson, who soon took a wicket each.
When Saggers was called into the attack he made a sound start to his international bowling career with a tight spell of five overs for 13 runs, including one maiden and one no ball.
During that time Rikki Clarke claimed two wickets at the other end as Bangladesh reached 83 for four.
