Kent dodged the showers to completely dominate the opening two days of their final pre-season friendly of the summer in Canterbury where the students of Leeds/ Bradford University were put to the sword.
The hosts amassed 481 for five at a rate nearing five an over before declaring their first innings toward the end of a near three-hour break for rain at 3.30pm.
The students from the University Centre of Cricketing Excellence, batting on a pitch freshened by the rain, then reached 59 for three in the 33 overs possible before bad light stopped play as Ryan McLaren, Darren Stevens and Matthew Coles took a wicket apiece.
Resuming on their overnight score of 366 for two from the opening day, Kent batted on until 12.40pm in adding a further 125.
Matt Walker went for 58, run out after being called for an unlikely second run by partner Martin van Jaarsveld, who also went soon after for 99 when chipping a catch to mid-wicket.
Geraint Jones sliced a drive to deep point to go for 29, but Stevens (49) and McLaren (1) were both unbeaten when the heavens opened just before 1pm driving the players from the field for an early lunch.
Kent called time on their innings thereafter and will hope to make greater inroads into the University batting on Monday's final day.
