Canterbury's Ryan Lawford recorded his third top-three finish in three starts in the MSA British Rallycross Championship at Lydden Hill on August 25.
Lawford, 22, was second fastest in qualifying for the Stockhatch Class A section on his local circuit, to take second place on the starting grid for the final.
A jump start wrecked his chances of victory as he then had to re-start from the back of the grid, but nevertheless Lawford was pleased twith his performance.
“I had a really good event,” said Lawson, who competes in a Peugeot 205, “and a lot of credit has to go to Will Gollop, the former European Rallycross champion who has given me some excellent advice. I made a mistake on tyre choice but you learn from these mistakes, and a lot of it comes down to money.”
Lawford lies fifth overall with two events remaining. The next event is at Pembrey in Wales on September 28, before the season concludes at Mondello Park in County Kildare, Ireland on October 12.
