Manager Ray Turner says his squad are “ready to play some games” as their pre-season campaign begins in earnest.
Town visit Sheppey & Sheerness on Saturday (noon) before the visit of Maidstone to Salters Lane on Tuesday (7.45pm) and Turner said: “We are looking forward to getting back to playing some games, we are ready.
“Saturday should be a good workout and we should have almost everyone available, save for a couple who have work commitments.
“We’ll have a look at some of the younger players from last year’s under-18 team, who have been doing well but I don’t have a huge squad so it’s not like I’ll be using 19 or 20 players.”
Maidstone won promotion to the Ryman League, Premier Division at the expense of Faversham in the play-off final but Turner insists there are no hard feelings ahead of the friendly on Tuesday.
Turner said: “Although we were disappointed with how we played in that game, we made a lot of friends up there with the way we conducted ourselves.”
Turner hopes his settled squad will remain intact until the start of the season, adding: “I’m happy with what I’ve got. We did all right last season. Why would I change
it?”
