Faversham Town believe they can push for promotion again this season – but they don’t want anyone to know it.
Ray Turner took the Lilywhites all the way to the Ryman League, Division 1 South play-off final in May and his squad is largely unchanged.
But most people are overlooking Town in their 2013/14 promotion discussions and Turner is more than happy to have the underdog tag for another season.
He said: “I don’t want the players to see last season as a flash in the pan but I hope we can go under the radar again. I’m happy for us to stay out of the limelight to some extent.
“It’s important for the club and the players to get recognition but this is a league where you’ve got to plough on and grind results out.
“As much as I want us to be under the radar, the belief in the dressing room is strong.
“I’ve got absolute trust and belief in the players and they know what they need to do.
“In this league, if you’re in the top-10, you’re in with a shout all the way through the season and if you’re there into the last six weeks of the season, you’ve got a chance of reaching the play-offs.”
