Ray Turner expects fierce competition from across Kent in his bid to lead Faversham on another charge for promotion in Ryman League, Division 1 South.
The Lilywhites reached last season’s play-off final and Turner has aspirations to go one better in 2013/14.
But he knows Town’s county rivals will have other ideas, not to mention the likes of Hastings and Guernsey – relegated and promoted into the league respectively.
Town boss Turner said: “My dream is to take this club up but in realistic terms, we over-achieved last year. Other teams have spent big and we don’t particularly.
“The sides that have come down are putting pressure on themselves and other managers want to get out of this league straight away. I’m not one of those. Things have got to be right on and off the pitch.
“I don’t want us to be a club that bounces between leagues. I’d like to take the club up but we’ve got to be strong enough to sustain it. A lot of Kent sides are trying for the same thing.
“There will be four or five looking to go up but it won’t be that easy.”
