Ray Turner will put FA Cup fever to the back of his mind as Faversham face an important Ryman League, Division 1 South clash with Peacehaven & Telscombe on Saturday.
The Town boss was thrilled with his side’s dominant display to knock Premier Division side Cray Wanderers out of the FA Cup in the first qualifying round on Sunday – earning £3,000 for the club’s coffers and matching their furthest progress in the competition – last achieved more than 20 years ago.
However, the ninth-placed Lilywhites are separated from fifth-placed Peacehaven by goal difference and Turner wants his side focused on their league campaign as opposed to cup runs.
He said: “It’s an important game for us. After losing our last league game at Redhill, it’s important we get back on track.
"They look to be a strong side but while we have made an OK start, it’s not been fantastic and we want to keep our points tally going."
The 3-0 win at Cray set up a September 28 second qualifying round tie at Horsham.
Skipper Aaron Lacy returns from a three-match ban against Peacehaven.
