Canterbury Ladies player-coach Jen Wilson says Saturday’s visit of the University of Birmingham is the first in a series of six must-win games.
The city club kept up with the pace as Investec Premier Division action resumed with a 4-1 victory at struggling Buckingham on Saturday.
The win left them third, six points adrift of leaders Surbiton and second-placed Clifton with six games to play but with a nine-point lead in the race for the Championship play-off places.
The fourth-placed students are eight points adrift of Canterbury but Wilson said: “It will be another tough game. Every week is a must-win game from now on.
"I am not looking at the table so I have no idea about where other teams stand. We are just looking at ourselves.
“The six-point gap Surbiton have is the same six points they took from their two games against us. We don’t get to play them again so in that sense things are out of our control.
“We do get to play Clifton again and we have a game in hand, so that is something we can take back into our control at some stage but only if we can keep picking up wins and all our thoughts are on the Uni of Birmingham.”
