KENT County Cricket Club has received a £5,000 donation from members of the Kent Supporters’ Club.

The money, which was raised through the Kent Youth Trust and supporters’ club fund-raising activities, will be split between Kent’s newly formed youth academy and this winter’s training programme of the club’s most promising young cricketers.

Colin James, Chairman of the Kent Supporters’ Club, said: "It is a testament to the support of the club that we are able to raise such substantial funds and we look forward to continuing our support for the club."

Paul Millman, Chief Executive of Kent County Cricket Club, said: "The Supporters’ Club has always given us magnificent support and, thanks to their efforts, both the academy and our younger cricketers will benefit. The club is most grateful to them for this tremendous effort."
