A charity that helps people with mental health issues has been spreading news of its work.
Invicta Advocacy Network, based in Hythe Street, Dartford, aims to represent, speak up and promote the voice and concerns of people with mental health issues living in Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley.
The awareness day at the Orchards Shopping Centre, let people know about the support and help it offers for those with issues, including dementia and depression.
Other organisations, such as Mind, Carers First, Signpost and the Community Mental Health Team, also attended and were there to help and answer people’s questions.
The event, entitled Rollercoaster, was well attended by users and providers alike, with members of the public encouraged to come in for a cup of tea and a chat about mental health.
Heart of the Matter boss Julie Fuller said: “Mental health is as important as our physical health. We are all here to start a conversation about mental health and blowaway some of the myths that surround it.
"We all have bodies that sometimes become unwell and we all have brains that sometimes become unwell. There is no difference and help is out there for both.”
Heart of the Matter members created a “rollercoaster” across the length of the room, which depicted a day in the life of each member’s feelings, whether up or down – just like life.
