A 17-year-old boy was stamped on in New Ash Green by a group of teenagers who also hit him with rocks and sticks moments before the assault.
Police are appealing for witnesses to an alleged assault on Friday, January 23 outside Ash House in Ash Road between 4.30pm and 5pm.
Four teenagers including two 16-year-old boys, a 15-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl have been arrested in connection.
The 17-year-old was first assaulted by the group when they allegedly threw rocks at him before hitting him with sticks.
The group ran from the scene when a man emerged from Ash House to help the teenager.
Afterwards, the boy was confronted by the group again when he walked down Centre Road.
Drivers sounded their horns to break up the disturbance as the group beat and stamped on him during the assault.
Two women came to the aid of the victim, one of them driving the teenager home.
"We understand they (the women) showed great bravery by intervening and helping the teenager home" - PC Swift
Investigating officer, PC Swift said: "We are keen to hear from the motorists who witnessed the incident as well as the two women who came to the aid of the victim.
"We understand they showed great bravery by intervening and helping the teenager home.
"One of the women told the victim she was 26-years-old. I’d like to appeal directly to these ladies to come forward. They may have information crucial to the investigation."
The four teenagers arrested have been bailed further pending further enquiries.
