A woman and her child have been hurt in an accident with a car this morning.

The mother in the 30s was walking along Shepherds Lane, Dartford, with her child in a push chair.

She became involved in an incident with a vehicle and suffered injuries to her leg and lower body, while her child suffered head injuries.

A spokesman for Kent Police said their injuries are not thought to be serious, but they have both been taken to Darent valley Hospital.

It took place at around 8.40am in Shepherds Lane, Dartford, between Princes Road and West Hill.

Police and ambulance services were at the scene and the road was closed.
