Lordsbury Tralee has been unlucky to have finished runner-up in both of his first two full races at the track.
The Gemma Davidson-trained youngster has started slowly both times but has shown he can finish strongly and can be expected to win soon.
I did a write-up two weeks ago regarding the quality of our top graders here.
Having pointed out the relentless rise through the grading system of Black Mix, it came as no great surprise that she won in grade A2 over 380m last Saturday night.
That makes it eight wins now from 14 starts which is probably the best record of any greyhound currently racing here at the moment.
She has had one attempt previously in top grade A1 in late July which proved little as she got knocked over at the first bend.
Time now for a second shot against the best and having risen from A6 up to the top, she deserves both her place and better luck this time.
While on the subject of dogs climbing the grades, keep an eye on Fast Fit Elin and Phantom Tom who are in irresistible form at present.
Elin has now won in grades A8, A7 and A6 and nearly managed another win in an A5 race at the weekend when beaten by just a neck having led from halfway.
She is the type who has experienced her share of trouble in races before but she always seems to give a good account of herself. I expect her to progress further.
In just 10 days, Phantom Tom has managed to win in grades A6, A5 and A4. No easy feat and his form lines could not be more perfect on paper with all three reading "Quick away, always led."
On his last two starts the bookmakers have sent him off as a 6-1 shot and while they will have been pleased that, as an outsider in the field, he won, they may well send him off at a shorter price next time out.
If he leads he has every chance of making it a four-timer.
