This is the moment part a power station was demolished.

The 10-second explosion at Littlebrook Power Station in Dartford took place at midnight on Wednesday and was the fourth at the Thames' last remaining power station.

A video captures the moment the "D" station de-aeration bay was brought down, just five days after the fourth part of demolition plans failed to bring down the building.

The controlled explosion, completed by Brown and Masons, in Littlebrook, Dartford, was why many residents heard a loud bang in the night.

A road block was put in place on the QEII bridge, to make sure drivers weren't distracted during the explosion.

Demolitions of parts of the main structures are set to continue throughout 2019, with the projecte expected to be complete in 2020.
