More than £60,000 has been raised to try and save a little boy who is fighting cancer for a second time.

Jack Howard, from Hartley, is battling kidney cancer.

He took a dangerous turn on Thursday and doctors cannot say for sure if he has days or weeks to live. Three months ago, they predicted he would only survive a few weeks.

More than 1,000 people have added to the total. Among them was West Ham co-chairman David Sullivan, who pledged £5,000 and the club itself contributed another £5,000.

A spokesman said: “Jack’s family are probably one of the most decent and kind famiies you could ever wish to know and his parents Nick and Zoe and his brother Callum and sister

Lucy have gone through a lifetime’s worth of pain and heartache already. Our company have pledged £1,500 for him but there is still a long way to go.

“This could be his last chance as doctors only gave him a few weeks to live about three months ago.”
