Hundreds queue outside Apple store at Bluewater for new iPhone

Published: 12:27, 19 September 2014

About 400 people were in the queue overnight at Bluewater to get their hands on the latest iPhone.

The first people started queuing outside the Apple store at around 3pm yesterday ahead of the launch today.

A Bluewater spokesman said: "The Apple store said the first person in the queue has become a bit of an Apple Bluewater celebrity as they have been first in the queue for every iPhone launch."

Each device - the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus - is available in 16GB, 64GB and 128GB sizes, with the iPhone 6 starting from £539.

The iPhone 6 Plus will retail from £619 for the 16GB version.

The Apple store is offering orders on the new iPhone this year, which has meant two queues were available to join with staggered pick up times throughout the day.
