Principal Gurjit Kaur Shergill said: “This afternoon there was an incident at the academy and one of our students suffered serious injuries.

"The student received swift and exceptional care from both our own members of staff and the emergency services and is currently being cared for in hospital. No one else was injured.

“I would like to thank our staff, and all of our students, for the calm, considerate and caring manner in which they have conducted themselves today.
