Winning tip Lordsbury Kerry made it two wins in two weeks after being highlighted here a fortnight ago.

Clearly, she is a progressive type of greyhound and she may well have further room for improvement over the next couple of months.

Talking of progressive dogs, you could do a lot worse than to keep an eye on Blizzard Cody who has risen from grade A7 up to a win at A3 level at the weekend.

This was the dog’s third successive victory and he has been recording some decent win times. You have to wonder sometimes at why greyhounds suddenly hit form as he has. His last four form lines all read "early pace, soon led" while the four prior to that all read "missed break".

It would seem that after a dodgy trapping bout across a period of some three months he has now got his act together and with a fast 23.47sec on his book it is not inconceivable that he may well now go on and add an A2 win to his CV.

After 20 races in Ireland, Pegeen Maidhc joined Crayford trainer Barry O’Sullivan’s kennels in July and has shown in her five races here that she looks like a decent prospect.

With all five lines reading "ran on" it will not take long for her to record her first win. She is in grade S2 over 540m at present and in her first outing over the extended 714m at the weekend she was only beaten by just under three lengths having trapped out in last. However, she has only managed to lead away from the traps once out of her 25 career races.

It is a big month at the track as we will be celebrating our 25th anniversary since opening with two very special nights’ racing on Fridays September 23 and 30.

These two evenings will comprise of 25 sweepstake races which covers all of the grades that are run at the stadium. I would encourage you to come down and join in the party atmosphere.

Entry will be at just £2.50 on the gate on these two evenings. Full details are at www.crayford.com
