A new Bluewater shop selling pre-loved designer clothes from as little as £5 has opened.

The pop-up store, at the centre in Greenhithe, near Dartford, is the first of its kind in the county run by sustainable fashion business We Are.

The “kilo sale” is full of secondhand clothing from brands such as Tommy Hilfiger and Nike, alongside authentic vintage items – but the final cost of the items depends on the weight of the garments.

Founder of We Are, Matthew Griffiths, said: “We are thrilled to be launching our popular kilo sale concept store at Bluewater, bringing our sustainable shopping experience to Kent for the first time.

“Millions of perfectly wearable clothes are thrown out each year and we are here to prove that sustainable fashion can help you stay on-trend as well as help save the planet.”

Prices start from £5 with a whole kilo costing £25 – but customers need to pay £2.50 for an entry ticket. You can find out more here.

Centre director at Bluewater, James Waugh, said: “With sustainability at the forefront of everyone’s minds, we know that our guests are looking for more climate-conscious ways to shop.

“That is why we are partnering with ‘we are’ to bring pre-loved fashion to Bluewater for the first time in response to the growing popularity of shopping second-hand, while bringing our guests a new mix of premium and vintage brands at accessible prices.”

The second-life fashion store is located in the former Topshop unit next to Apricot and Fat Face on the Upper Rose Gallery and will be open every day until June 9.
