Coronavirus Kent: Bluewater still open as 'some shops close' following COVID-19 warnings

Bluewater has said it remains open despite reports some shops are being closed following the coronavirus outbreak.

The Greenhithe shopping centre says it is taking a "robust approach" to cleaning around the site amid increasing worries around COVID-19.

It's thought up to 15 shops have made the decision to close.

General manager at Bluewater Robert Goodman said: “Bluewater remains open as normal, for specific store and restaurant information please contact them directly.

"We are following all guidelines issued by Public Health England and continue to take a stringent and proactive approach to the cleanliness and hygiene of Bluewater.

"We are taking a robust approach to the cleaning of common touch areas, including seating areas, handrails, lifts and escalator handrails, bathrooms and door handles.”
