Dartford Borough Council is expected to build almost 800 homes a year.
At a Dartford Cabinet meeting last night it was revealed the council needs to deliver 778 homes per annum.
The figures revealed tie in with the government’s methodology of how many houses the borough should build within a period of time.
Head of regeneration for Dartford, Teresa Ryszkowska, said: “It’s something we can cope with. The last couple of years we have had a delivery of 971 homes and 1,200 respectively.
“We know we have enough planning permission and allocated sites over the next years.
“We will eventually run out of sites over the long term.
“We will encounter difficulties of preparing a local plan.
“It will be expected other authorities will pick up the load and deliver on it.”
Council leader Jeremy Kite said: “Infrastructure has to come. We can’t build houses without building hospitals, hiring police and bring in GP services and schools.
“They all got to be in there.”
